Background

The Wisconsin Basecamp program is a collaboration of a number of campus partners and utilizes the expertise and assistance of the following groups:

• Wisconsin Hoofers
• Hoofer Outing Club
• Orientation & New Student Programs
• Adventure Learning Programs (ALPs)

The program directors are Finn Ryan and Nathan Williams. Both Finn and Nathan have experience in wilderness trip leading and are trained in wilderness medicine. Finn is currently a graduate student in Curriculum and Instruction at the University, with a background in skiing, biking and whitewater kayaking. Nathan is a web developer with University Housing and volunteer leader with Hoofers, in addition to being a sea kayaking instructor and trips leader.
