Wisconsin Basecamp is an outdoor orientation program for incoming UW Madison freshmen. The program offers a wilderness trip to students during the summer prior to their first year at UW Madison.

This year, we'll be offering canoe camping and backpacking trips during July. Each trip will have at most 10 participants and 2 student leaders and will be five days in length. Both trips will be led by current University of Wisconsin students with outdoor leadership experience, but you don't need any outdoors experience to go!

In addition to a Wisconsin wilderness experience, the trips offer students an opportunity to make new friends before starting their freshmen year. This experience integrates personal and social development into the trips through strong leadership and facilitated discussions and activities from staff at the University of Wisconsin.
